License and Updates

Your license key does two things: it activates the Pro features inside the plugin, and it enables automatic updates straight from us when a new version ships. This article covers the full license lifecycle — activation, deactivation, renewal, moving sites, and troubleshooting.

How to find your license key

Your license key was sent by email after you bought the plugin. If you can't find the email:

  1. Open tncflipbook.com/account and sign in.
  2. Go to License Keys.
  3. Each purchase has its key listed there — copy it.

You can have multiple license keys if you've bought more than one plan or upgrade.

Activate your license

  1. In your WordPress admin, go to FlipBooks → License.
  2. Paste your license key into the License Key field.
  3. Click Activate License.

If activation succeeds, the status changes to Active with a green indicator. One of your license slots is now bound to this site, and your WordPress dashboard will show update notifications whenever a new plugin version is released.

Deactivating a license

If you want to move the plugin to another site, free up a license slot, or stop using the plugin, deactivate first:

  1. Go to FlipBooks → License.
  2. Click Deactivate License.
  3. The slot is freed and can be used on another site.

Always deactivate before uninstalling or deleting the plugin. Otherwise the slot stays locked, and you'll have to contact support to reset it.

Moving the plugin to another site

  1. On the old site, go to FlipBooks → License and click Deactivate License.
  2. On the new site, install the plugin (see Installation and Activation), paste the same license key, and click Activate License.

The site URL on file updates automatically when you activate on the new site.

Renewing

Annual licenses renew once a year. About 30 days before expiry, you'll get an email reminder, and the plugin's License page shows a renewal countdown.

To renew:

  1. Open tncflipbook.com/account and sign in.
  2. Go to Subscriptions.
  3. Click Renew next to the license you want to extend.
  4. Complete the renewal payment.

After payment, go back to your WordPress site → FlipBooks → License and click Check License. The expiry date updates immediately.

If you let a license expire:

  • You can keep using the plugin — it doesn't deactivate itself.
  • You won't see new update notifications until you renew.
  • Your existing FlipBooks continue to work normally.

Once renewed, all update notifications resume automatically. You don't lose any data.

Automatic updates

When your license is active and current, plugin updates appear in:

  • Dashboard → Updates in your WordPress admin
  • The Plugins page (with an "Update Now" link next to TNC FlipBook 3D)

Click Update and WordPress fetches the new version. Your FlipBooks, settings, and content are all preserved across updates — nothing changes except the plugin code.

Before any major update

For peace of mind, you can:

  1. Back up your database using your hosting control panel or a backup plugin (UpdraftPlus, BackupBuddy, Duplicator, etc.).
  2. Export your FlipBooks as JSON via FlipBooks → Toolkit → Export. You can re-import them if anything goes sideways.
  3. Update.

We test every release thoroughly, but having a fallback is always smart for production sites.

Update notifications

The License page also surfaces:

  • License status — Active, Inactive, or Expired.
  • Expiry date — when the current license period ends.
  • Sites used — how many slots are currently active.
  • A "Check License" button — manually refreshes the status, useful right after renewing or making a change on tncflipbook.com.

Lifetime licenses

A lifetime license is a one-time purchase. It includes:

  • Unlimited updates, forever — no renewal payments.
  • Support, on a "best effort" basis — usually within 1-2 business days, like other tiers.
  • Use on the number of sites included in the plan (1, 5, unlimited).

Lifetime licenses never expire and never need renewal.

Troubleshooting license issues

"Invalid license key" on activation.

  1. Re-copy the key from the email or your account dashboard — extra whitespace at the start or end breaks the key.
  2. Confirm you're on the right WordPress admin (sometimes people are on staging when they think they're on production).
  3. If the key is correct, check whether you've used all license slots — see your account dashboard under License Keys.

"This license has reached its activation limit." You've used all the slots on this license. Either deactivate the license on one of the other sites first, or upgrade to a plan with more slots from your account dashboard.

The site URL doesn't match. WordPress URLs are case-sensitive when activating. https://www.example.com is treated differently from https://example.com. The URL on file gets set the first time you activate; if you've moved domains, contact support to reset the binding.

License says Active but no update appears.

  1. Go to Dashboard → Updates and click Check Again.
  2. Go to FlipBooks → License and click Check License to refresh status.
  3. If still no update, the cache may be stale — wait an hour and try again, or contact support.

My license expired but I'm still using the plugin — is that OK? Yes. The plugin doesn't stop working when a license expires. You just won't receive new updates. To resume updates, renew at tncflipbook.com/account.

I lost access to the email I used to buy. Contact support with your original purchase details (PayPal/Stripe receipt, transaction ID, approximate purchase date). We can update the account email after verifying identity.

Refund policy
